It may be humorous that he is winning straw polls before announcing now, but if he doesn't announce soon it will look like he doesn't have the commitment to the race he should. This strangely reminds of last years Presidential GOP Primaries when Fred Thompson was the "favorite" before he ever announced. He waited too long and we all saw how that worked out. Now if he would just announce.
